Road races are dependent on people like you who give their time and effort to make our event a success. We are looking for approximately 100 enthusiastic volunteers to donate some time both on and off the course. If you feel you have selected expertise for a particular task, please mention it. We could use all the help we can get to make this event a success.

Volunteer opportunities include:

  • miscellaneous jobs

Volunteers may be asked to start as early as 6:30am and/or stay as late as 1pm on race day. Volunteers must be trained before the race. Contact volunteer@runajax.ca to receive training and details on how to get the volunteer shirt and assignments/job expectations for race day.

Students: you may request confirmation of community volunteer hours.

If you know of anyone else who may be able to help us out with this great cause, please ask them to contact us. We also welcome GROUPS!

Run Ajax Cheering Zones

What’s Involved?
Show your spirit and get your community or group together to form a CHEER ZONE at a designated spot along our gorgeous waterfront race route. We will supply basic noisemakers to each group but it is up to you to bring the rest and vie for the coveted Best Cheer Zone Award!
Judges will pass by all registered cheering zones to evaluate you on:

  • number of people
  • energy and enthusiasm
  • originality (themes, costumes, signs, music and props)
  • noise
  • overall impression

For more information or to register your group to a designated cheer zone, please contact Cathy at volunteer@runajax.ca.

RUN AJAX is very proud to once again be supporting the efforts of the great people at Grandview Children’s Centre, and are happy to present them as our charity partner again in 2018!  Help us raise the money they need to continue to provide invaluable care to the little ones who need it in our community!

The paediatric experts at Grandview Children’s Centre provide outpatient treatment, therapeutic rehabilitation services and more to 5,000 children and youth with special needs and their families in Durham Region every year, but 2,000 more kids are waiting to receive therapy service from Grandview – and that number is expected to increase 31% over the next 20 years.

Grandview’s main site in Oshawa was built in 1983 to serve 400 kids. Support from the community is needed to ensure earliest possible access to assessment and treatment for kids with special needs, and to help Grandview Children’s Centre build a new facility to meet the needs of children with special needs and their families in Durham Region now, and in the future.

Help raise much needed funds (links below) for Grandview Kids, like Brody and Noelle and create more inspirational moments than ever before for kids with special needs across Durham Region.
